New Year’s poll

Every year I make New Year’s Resolutions. At the end of the year I look back to see how many of them I have managed to stick to. I rarely manage to keep them up all year (although last year I did successfully take a photo every day). But I still believe that they are worth setting, and worth attempting. It makes sense to me to at least begin the year as I mean to go on.

So here’s my question for this month.
Did you set a New Year’s Resolution? Or have you not set one / already lapsed?

Why not share your resolution in the comments. Once it is out in the public domain you will be forced to try harder to keep it up!

Last years resolution which I managed to stick too was to commute to work and back everyday by bike, great fun, great fitness and quicker!
so along with carrying that on, this year I decided I should be cooking more food from scratch. i.e. if I want to cook a green thai curry, then make the green thai curry paste 1st instead of buying a jar in the supermarket. The idea is to make something that I would normally buy at leasy once a week. so far still going strong. Tasty!

I basically came across this website that sends you an email every day asking if you have managed to achieve your habit on the previous day. It’s called HabitForge and I’ve found it pretty good so far where other techniques have failed me

In slightly different terms I’ve promised myself no hot showers until 2011. It’s fine right now but I think it’ll be tough when I’m on the bike and get offered one by someone. Don’t really know why I’m doing it, haven’t given it too much thought, but I feel much more alive every morning and that’s reason enough, right?!

I have now started the cold showers in the morning as well. And yes, its hard to start with and the 1st time I definitely didn’t get very clean as I was in and out in a dash! However I am getting better, just need to manage washing the hair as well and then I’ll be there. In some kind of perverse way I actually now look forward to it! Although I must admit I do not do this for every shower only the morning one, when I get home cold and grubby from biking or running I am all for hot showers still!
