How was your year? How did 2009 treat you? How did you treat it?
It’s important today to look forwards, to aim bigger and better for 2010.
But my New Year’s resolution this time last year was to take a photograph every day in 2009. Looking back through my pictures I am amazed that I can remember every day because of the photographs. So, to help me set higher standards for my life next year I have just browsed through them all to see what I got up to this year.
If you are looking for a resolution to make tomorrow could I suggest a 365 photo project. I’mm so pleased to have done it. Here’s the fruit of my labours:
Happy New Year!
Love the pictures here – real variety and depth. Congrats on doing this Al.
Hi Alastair,
Just a quick note to say that I really enjoyed your blog this year.
Best wishes for the new year.
Thanks,
Mike
Two resolutions for me. Not bad for someone who has NEVER made a new year promise before.
1. Get fitter
2. Take 365 photos (at least)
OK three new year promises, I must blog more and make a difference some how. (is that 4?)
Happy New Year Alastair
great job Al, have loved keeping an eye on this. Inspirational stuff! A very happy new year to you and seeing you later in year,
Best
Tom
HAHA, been reading your blog – we seem to be living parallel lives! I also did a year long project (called Mt Evelyn 365) where I took a pic every day in my town. They were posted on the town’s website, and at the end of the project, an exhibition was organised (in the town) and a book of selected images printed…

It was fun, although a bit taxing taking a ‘good’ images every day in a small town.
Just had a look at your book on Blurb – it’s really nice.
Long time since you posted this I know, but that’s a beauty with blogs, you can always re-read them. I’ve been photographing daily for about two months now and still going strong. I’ve enjoyed it very much so far. All the memories as well as the learning – I regularly catch myself thinking about composition and the lightning at the moment, really fun. Thank’s for the inspiration!
Glad it was of help!
Just discovered your blog and micro adventures.. I love what you’re doing.. Stupid question on the 365 Photo project.. How did you decide what to take a photo of? I could see myself getting to midnight having not decided as so much to choose from… 🙂
I tried to find beautiful or interesting things. But sometimes I got close to midnight and had to resort to a panic crap photo!
