A Quick Round-Up

Hello,
Here is a quick round-up of the best bits from my blog this month, along with some forthcoming speaking dates and news of the iPad release of my latest book…

SPEAKING

I was very pleased to be invited to speak at a TEDx event this summer, at Cambridge University. As always, I tried to fit way too much into my allocated 18 minutes! You can watch the video here, or read the main points I addressed here.

I have a handful of UK talks squeezed in before heading to Antarctica in October:
  1. Secret Location in London – August 29th
  2. Shrewsbury – September 20th (click to send enquiry email)
  3. Plymouth – September 26th (click to send enquiry email)
  4. London – October 11th
  5. Bristol – October 12th
…and anyone planning a big adventure should come along to this event in London in September to share ideas and brew your enthusiasm! If you have completed a big trip please do come along too to share your expertise. It’s at the wonderful Royal Geographical Society and only costs a fiver!

The Nights of Adventure series return this autumn, with events in Bristol and in Oxford. Please do come along if you can, or help spread the word to friends and family.

BOOKS

My latest book, There Are Other Rivers, is now available on the iPad, complete with over 90 full-page, full-colour photos, for just £4.99. It really looks great. And you can download the first three chapters for free here.

You can also read the book on Kindle for just £2.01…

BLOGGING

Despite spending the last few weeks glued to the television watching the Olympics, I still managed to jot down a few blog posts. Here are the best bits:

I’mm running my first Fell Race in fifteen years this weekend! I hope you have a great weekend too,

Alastair
