Vacancy to row across Atlantic in January

Rowing to France for Help for Heroes

An opportunity that makes me gnash my teeth at having quite a full month of talks already booked…

Ocean rower Margaret Bowling just sent me this email and asked if I would share it on my blog:

There are currently 2 last minute bargain basement places going on crews heading out across the Atlantic this winter. Both crews will be departing from Agadir in Morocco in the first week of January so you will need to be available immediately after Christmas. The costs of flights, food and incidentals is an estimate and is not included in a fee payable to either skipper/team. Let me know if you take up the opportunity – I will be very jealous. Rowing an ocean remains high on my To Do list.

This 6-man crew has just lost a team member who had already paid £8,000 of the £12,000 fee. Men only.
Budget:

£4,000 for your seat

£1,000 for flights

£500 for incidentals

TOTAL £5,500

This 16-person crew is still looking to fill their last seat on a new concept multihull boat. They urgently need a 16th member to balance numbers. Please note that the cost of your seat excludes food.
Budget:

£6,500 for your seat ($10,000US)

£1,000 for flights

£500 for expedition food

£500 for incidentals

TOTAL £8,500

For further details please contact the skippers directly.

Hi Al, we have just arrived in Barbados and are now the holders of 2 world records – one for the fastest ever crossing of the Atlantic and one for the most consecutive days of rowing over 100 miles. It has been the most amazing experience of my life. I’ve lost nearly 20kg over the last 30 days so I’m off for a beer and a hearty feed! Thank you again for alerting me to this opportunity. Kindest regards Graham
