Rob Forbes swam, biked and ran from England to South Africa to support England in the 2010 World Cup! I like his style! It is a fantastic expedition well worth checking out. I am also impressed with anyone who completes the Comrades Ultramarathon: it’s been on my ‘To Do’ list for a long time…
I asked him what other trips inspire him. He said that it would be great to follow in the footsteps of former great adventurers like Stanley and Livingstone and complete some kind of adventure race from the source of the Congo to the ocean, highlighting the difficulties they would have gone through in the process.
He will also be hugely impressed when Dan Martin completes his round the world triathlon. Finally, in terms of a personal challenge he would like to break the century mark in “all you can eat chicken wings” at Hooters, Nottingham on a Monday night. His current record stands at 77.
Speaking from experience I know that that is the sort of challenge you day dream about for hours during long, hot hungry days on the bike!
