Pinned above my desk, back in my old bedroom at my mum and dad’s house, is a scrap of paper. It must have been there since I was revising for my A-Levels. I don’t remember putting it there.
There are two types of men in this world:
those who stay home, and those who do not.
– Rudyard Kipling
I’mve seen a lot since the drudgery of A-Level revision. And I agree strongly with my young self.
Thanks for the ‘On Meek-ro Adventures’ link/mention, Alastair.
We’ve done a lot since the Snowdon trip including Scafell, another of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, shelter building, ghyll scrambling, lots of ‘one-pan-cooking in the outdoors’ and other stuff (all on the http://www.dotrythisathome.com website of course) so other families can maybe think about doing similar.
After all, we all need inspiration and I must stress that much of my (our) inspiration comes from your good self – so thanks for that!
Tim
Actually, my reading is =
“There are only two kinds of men in the world – those that stay at home and those that do not.”
