Microadventures is the culmination of the many fabulous microadventures I have enjoyed over the past couple of years. It is designed to be a beautiful, enjoyable, inspiring book. It also contains chapters answering all the questions you may have in order to help you get out into the wild and seek microadventures of your own. If this book does not persuade you to escape from real life for a short while and go sleep on a hill, then it is has failed.
The book is in two parts: the first part is all of the stories of my different microadventures (designed to work wherever you happen to live, not just for specific pretty locations), complete with 150 colour photographs (see below).
If you think you (or a friend) would enjoy this book, please, please order it today. (Don’t forget it’s Fathers’ Day next weekend…)
Today, I am asking for your help.
I know that blog posts soliciting help FROM YOU rather than offering something useful TO YOU are quite annoying. So I do not do this lightly. This will take you less than a minute to do, but it will really make a big difference to me.
Amazon rules the world of book selling these days. Do well on Amazon, and your book will do well. That may not be a nice reality, but it is true.
With millions of books available on Amazon it is hard to stand out.
But if a book gets a ‘spike’ of early orders, then the Amazon computers take note and are more inclined to promote your book. It’s mildly naff, vaguely cheating, but one of the only ways that non-celebrity authors like me can peek briefly above the parapet.
The book has so far reached as high as #12 in Amazon UK’s bestselling book ranks. This is the power of the ‘spike’!
This is how you can really help me (if you want to, of course!):
- In order for Amazon to ‘notice’ my book and therefore promote it, I need to generate a ‘spike’ of early orders. Therefore I would love it if you would order my book on Amazon today. It is available as a book and also on Kindle and iPad.
- As an incentive I am offering free copies of my other books and film. See here for details.
- Even if you do not want to buy my book, please would you pop something like this on Twitter or Facebook?
“This book seems a great idea if you’re busy with the 9 to 5 but still want adventure in your life: http://goo.gl/DaqGzc #microadventure”
I’mm sorry to be shamelessly asking for help, but this really is a big chance for me to try to get this book to a wider audience than my previous books (i.e. my Mum, my Mum’s friends).
