Two Years of my Life. In 4 minutes.

I want to showcase today a fabulous website called Pummelvision. It seamlessly transforms your Flickr photos into a music video on Vimeo or YouTube. I don’t know how it works, for it is more interesting than merely being sequential. I don’t know how it works, but I like it:

What do you think? A fun, subliminal summary of a couple of years of your life, or just a bit manic?

I love it! I think it reflects the vibracy of your life; all the colours, people, landscapes that you have seen and experienced in one small snapshot.

I think this is something you should be proud of.

Amazing – The human brain can in fact process that quickly although our sluggish selves will try to resist the spritely pace!!
The speed of it seems to stretch time abit (Seemed to take forever to come to an end) – relativity is at play here I think
After about the half way mark my brain adjusted to the speed and it became easy to follow
    .
My question is what music is playing in the background? I’d like to know the artist/song if possible.

Alistair have you ever used or thought of using an iPhone as a travel/adventure tool – GPS , perfect media distributing tool – blogging/camera/video/twitter etc , amazing apps for virtually anything you can think of esp for outdoors/survival stuff and actually surprisingly rugged and tough if placed in a nice cover! And lastly lots of mobile/solar charging options for iPhone

    • The music is automatic and I think always the same.

I would love to use an i|Phone – they have a lot of potential. I don’t own one though.

Get a 2hnd iPhone on Gumtree – The 3GS is going for a song these days around 200 quid or well less than that – sometimes the rapid release of new models can be a blessing!
Anything above a 3GS is fine (3G & 2G are significantly slower – Not really use-able for newer apps)
Make sure you Jailbreak it – that is when the real magic starts – the software that the jailbreakers have implemented take the iPhone to a new level , such as real multitasking , etc etc It basically becomes like a micro sized laptop – No Jokes!

Brilliant, looks great and the music compliments it perfectly. I’ve watched it 5 times and you notice different things each time. Great photos, great idea. Inspires me to start documenting my life better.

  10. Awesome stuff! I think it works very well with the fast pace and I particularly like the music as it’s fairly hypnotic when viewed with the images. I’m definitely going to knock one of these up my self.

    Thanks for sharing.

  11. Good idea but a bit fast and manic. Maybe if you can slow it down a tad then it would work better as my brain can’t keep up with that speed.
I have seen something similar where you photograph one event, say a wedding, but take many more pix than you would normally. Then you put the pix through the same program and end up with a picture story of that event which looks like a movie.
