The Fred Whitton Challenge is an iconic, 112-mile cycle challenge over all the major passes of the Lake District National Park. It’s beautiful, difficult, simple, but not easy…
Most people ride it in one day, but I turned it into an overnight #microadventure by packing my bivvy bag and sleeping high in the fells.
I rode the route on the Trek 720 “road-tuned adventure tourer” for their #DrivenbyAdventure campaign.
All in all, this was a wonderful experience that I enjoyed very much.
I’md definitely like to ride the challenge “properly” one year.

Thank you to the many people who have kindly "bought me a coffee" for just £2.50 as encouragement to keep this blog going. "Yes, I too would like to donate a couple of pounds to this site..!"
What a wonderful movie, Al, with so many brilliant points. Tight editing, perfect length, great shots and witty, honest, unpretentious narrating. I love it!
Thank you VERY much!

What kind of bike do you use for this kind of adventures?

From reading some of your earlier post to more current ones its interesting to see how your opinions have matured. This clip especially shows it.
